How Much Will Used Stair Lifts Cost Me?

With the prices on new stair lifts running from $2000 all the way up to $7500 or more, a lot of people question whether or not they can save money by buying a used stair lift? Yes, you can save yourself a LOT of money by buying used stair lifts. Just how much you will save has a lot of variables to it.

As a rough idea, expect to save about 50% or more on a used stair lift over the cost of a new one. But that said, you should only use this as a gauge and not set in stone. As I mentioned, there are just so many different factors involved in what you might find on the market including:

  • Is the stair lift for sale by an individual or through a company?
  • How old is the stairlift?
  • What features does it have?
  • Who is the manufacturer of the lift?

And the list could include many others as well. Another major issue to ask yourself is whether you will install the stair lift yourself, or will you need someone to do it for you? If so, that will add around $500 to the total cost.

The nice thing about used stair lifts, other than the cost savings, is that you can get a lift that is not very old and will last you for well over 10+ years. That makes them an outstanding value for the money spent.
