How Much Do Stair Lifts Cost?

A common question you may have on your mind is knowing how much do stair lifts cost? Unfortunately, there is no one clear answer because the price will ultimately depend on different factors such as the type of lift you need, how long your staircase is, whether you need installation of the lift, options you desire and some other requirements you may have.

That said, here is a rough idea of what it will cost for the various types of stairlifts.

Straight Stair Lift (No installation) - Approximately $1500 on the low end to over $3000 on the higher end of the scale.

Straight Stair Lift With Installation - Generally speaking you can expect around $2500 to $4500 and up for a model that is also installed in your home.

Used Or Reconditioned Stair Lift - Used models can usually be found for $1000 - $3000 depending on age, length and options. These would be the uninstalled cost. For ones that you would need to have installed, you might expect costs to run from around $2000 - $3500.

Curved Stair Lifts - This is the most expensive type of stair lift for a good reason. Each one has to be custom made and installed. So the costs are going to vary widely of course. But you could be looking at figures in the $5000 - $20000 range.

The biggest key in finding your best deal is to get more than one of two quotes. I would highly recommend getting at least 3 different price quotes before making a decision. You might be very surprised at how much they may differ in costs.
